Letter to the Community From Jack Omer, SICSA President & CEO

To the Community We Love and Serve,

It is hard to believe that another year has almost come and gone. My Grandmother always told me, “the older you get, the faster the time flies.” No truer words have ever been spoken. I know there is no rest for the weary. Animal welfare doesn’t take time off and therefore, neither does our commitment to the SICSA Mission.

As your new President and CEO as of October of 2023, I take this responsibility seriously and commit to each of you that we will continue to move the organization forward with the same excellence that has become SICSA’s hallmark. As this year comes to a close, let me thank you for allowing SICSA to be part of your life. I look forward to getting to know as many of you as I can as I begin my tenure here. The staff here has welcomed me warmly into their family and we thank you for allowing us to be part of yours.

Although my time here at SICSA as an employee has been short, I am keenly aware of a few evident truths…

    • Our volunteers are, and continue to be the bedrock of this great organization.
    • I have never met a staff more committed to a mission than the SICSA Pack. -and-
    • NONE of what we are able to do here at SICSA could be accomplished without the unwavering support of our donors and advocates.

As we approach our 50th anniversary next year in May, there isn’t much that “looks” the same at SICSA today compared to SICSA then, but our work is far from over. We stay steadfastly committed to serving our community and wherever else this journey takes us. Thank you for all you do to support us. We hope this holiday season fills each of you with joy and the knowledge that you are appreciated. 2024 promises to be transformative and with your help we can do even more. We can’t wait to see what the next 50 years bring.

With Gratitude,

Jack Omer, SICSA President & CEO
