Join SICSA for a free Microchipping Event on Saturday, June 17, 2022, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at our facility located at 8171 Washington Church Road, Dayton, Ohio. Microchips will be offered on a first-come first-served basis while supplies last. Registration will take place on-site the day of the event.
A microchip implant is about the size of a grain of rice and is injected under the loose skin between an animal’s shoulder blades and is no more invasive than a vaccination. The microchip is a radio-frequency identification transponder that carries a unique identification number. When it is scanned by a veterinarian or shelter employee, it transmits the ID number that is listed in a national pet-recovery database containing the pet owner’s contact information.
