Unpacking, Getting Settled, and Our Grand Opening!

Box by box, we are finally getting settled in our Washington Township home! We want to keep you in the loop as much as possible during this exciting process.

The 8172 Washington Church Road location is coming together beautifully as staff unpack, and assess needs at the facility. From the updated Humane Education classrooms, to our K9 and Cat Cafes, we cannot wait to open our doors to you and your furry friends. While we will miss our Kettering location, we know that relocating to our new, state-of-the-art shelter and wellness center will allow us to better serve both the people and animals of the Dayton community.

After our soft opening at the end of January, we are happy to announce that we will be able to formally celebrate our move with our grand opening on Saturday, February 8th, 2020. This will include a day full of family-friendly events.

Between 10:00 am until 2:00 pm, guests can begin their visit with staff and volunteer led tours of the facility, including the new K9 and Cat Cafes where complimentary Boston Stoker coffee and hot chocolate will be available.

Between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm, visitors can participate in one of two activities:

Individuals and families can either receive an abbreviated tour of the building, ending with a 15 minute reading opportunity with the animals, or learn more about volunteer opportunities, ranging from animal care to adoption support, at our onsite volunteer fair. Adoption services will also be available if guests decide they are ready to bring one of the animals to their “furever” home!

After years of planning and weeks of moving, we are ecstatic to finally share this dream come true with our community. Without your ongoing support, none of this would be possible. We look forward to starting the new year in our new home with all of you!
