The Value of Membership

Membership at SICSA is a different animal.  Not many nonprofits and charities have memberships any more.  These days, it seems the members idea is more in line with country clubs and wholesale stores.  For us, membership is part of our core structure.  The basic structure of membership for SICSA was built into our guiding bylaws over 45 years ago.

Over the years, we have tried to help donors’ understanding of what membership is at SICSA and build in additional value.  To be quite blunt, we have tried several different options, using staff time and energy to bring you what we believe to be value.  As we head into another year and the start of our annual membership campaigning process, we want to better understand what YOU want out of membership.   Why did you become a member?  Was it because you like having having a say in the future of SICSA, or because you want the community to know you are an animal advocate?  Was it because of the swag at a particular level (t-shirts, magnets, etc.) or did you just happen to donate at the right time and had no clue it was for membership?  Is it knowing that your membership is directly saving lives, or being in the know by receiving monthly emails and being part of a Facebook group? All of these hold value, but what is most valuable to you? This is all important information for us to know and understand as we continue to help people understand the different between membership and other donations and provide appropriate value.

Please take a moment to complete the short, three-question Membership survey below.  Help us design a great experience for you, while at the same time, allowing us to focus our time and energy on only those items which help bring you joy.
