The Giving Tree

Every year, SICSA’s VolunTeens put up the Christmas tree in the lobby, and decorate it with ornaments, garland and lights.  Some of the ornaments have pictures of our animals with a list of items we are in need of, allowing those who support SICSA an opportunity to help an animal in need this holiday season.

“The holidays don’t truly start for me until SICSA’s VolunTeens decorate the lobby, including our annual giving tree”, said Carlette Jewel, Humane Education Manager. “Each year, they hand-make ornaments for our guests to take with them providing specific wish list items to support individual pets and services, and spend a fun evening displaying them as part of our holiday lobby make-over, finishing with treats and community. The previous year’s VolunTeens show this year’s new volunteers the ropes, and help us to continue the tradition, which provides our supporters a fun way to make the holidays merry for our pets.”

When you step in our lobby this holiday season, think about taking an ornament off our Giving Tree, and support the lifesaving mission of SICSA.
