SICSA’s Summer Camp is wrapping up this week, and it has been a fun 5 weeks! Campers have learned how they can help homeless pets through fun, hands-on activities, and projects, and about a variety of animal related careers. They focus on building Respect, Responsibility and Empathy that will help them to become tomorrow’s animal advocates. They visited our veterinary clinic, and participated in daily animal care, and animal welfare service projects that broadened their understanding of issues facing animals in our community, while inspiring and empowering them to solutionary action.
One thing that made our camp a success was our Community Partners. Our Community Partners are vital to our camps because they show our campers other aspects of animal welfare, how to respect those in our community, and inspire them to think greater.
This Summer, our Community Partners included Learning Tree Farm, Humane Society of Greater Dayton Bunny Brigade, Glen Helen Raptor Center, Miami Valley Pet Therapy Association, and Dogtors Animal Assisted Therapy.
