Our Grand Opening Weekend: A Celebration Recap

On Friday February 7th, 2020, SICSA experienced a dream come true. As guests looked on, the ceremonial ribbon was cut at our new Washington Township facility, officially kicking off our Grand Opening weekend! Staff and volunteers led visitors on tours through the state-of-the-art shelter. Beyond Kitty City and Pup Town, groups were offered special looks behind the scenes in spaces like our Temporary Care Unit, Administrative Office, and Veterinary Clinic. Following tours, we continued the celebration with a “Yappy” Hour where guests enjoyed refreshments and a complimentary photo booth.

The fun continued on Saturday February 8th with yet another day of celebration, offering family friendly options! Following tours on Saturday, visitors had the option of attending our Volunteer Fair or reading to the animals. Many young guests sat throughout Pup Town and Kitty City, reading various books to our adoptable dogs and cats. At the Volunteer Fair, guests discussed the multitude of volunteer opportunities available at SICSA. Overall, the day was filled with excitement after the long awaited opening of our new home.

If you have not yet, you may now visit the new SICSA Pet Adoption and Wellness Center at 8172 Washington Church Road, Washington Township, OH. We are open Monday through Saturday from noon until 8:00 PM, and Sunday from noon until 6:00 PM. We are so grateful to finally be able to officially open our doors to the public and thank all of the sponsors, volunteers, staff, and guests who made this weekend possible!
