Carlette Jewell, Youth Programs Coordinator
I meet with a lot of scout troops, and my hope is always that they take away some information that helps them reach their goals be it a badge, an award, or a fun reward after cookie sales. I had a group of 3rd grade Girl Scouts in recently for a science program and I was using cotton balls to represent cats in a lesson about overpopulation. My favorite moment was when one girl pinched a little bit of her cotton ball off and declared, “I spayed mine!” That’s a kid that gets it.
