Kitten Shower

Kitten season is upon us! Here at SICSA Pet Adoption & Wellness Center, we have seen an influx of kittens brought into our care. Many of these kittens are too young to be adopted at this point, and instead of living here at SICSA, go to foster homes where they can spend the first few weeks of their lives in comfortable homes, being socialized with loving families. The fosters who take care of these kittens know that they require special care. Some of these kittens are what we refer to as “bottle babies”, meaning they must be bottle fed. Some require special formula. At SICSA, we do everything we possibly can to provide fosters with all necessary materials and resources to care for our animals in their homes. Our ability to do so is dependent on donations to our foster program.

This year we are once again hosting our Kitten Shower in an effort to raise donations for our foster program, especially for the kittens in our care. Like a normal baby shower, we are asking supporters to donate supplies through our Amazon wish list, at our location, and through monetary donations specifically for the foster program through our Facebook fundraiser that we can then use to buy supplies. These donations will make an incredible difference in our ability to supply our amazing foster families with everything they need to give the kittens the best life possible while in their homes.

Due to ongoing concerns with COVID-19, this year’s Kitten Shower will be a virtual event. “Guests” can RSVP on our Facebook event here, and keep up with us over the span of a week leading into the Facebook Live event on July 25th! At the live event our Foster Coordinator, Christina Hutchins, will be opening gifts for the kittens, featuring foster kittens, and discussing our foster program. On the event page, guests can play games, see videos of the kittens, learn more about the foster program, and more. We hope you’ll join us for this event and stay posted on the event page for more information as we get closer to the Kitten Shower!
