Valentine’s Day is a special chance for us to show our sweethearts how much we adore them. And for many of us, we’re pretty smitten with our furry four-legged companions. Here are a few ways to celebrate the holiday with your pet.

1. Pets love to be showered with gifts just as much as our human companions. Visit the SICSA Gift Shop in our adoption center lobby to pick up a few presents for your cat or dog. Our hours are Monday-Saturday from 12-7 PM and Sunday from 12-4 PM.

2. Skip the chocolates and flowers (which can both be toxic to animals) and make your furry Valentine a treat that is delicious and safe! Your dog is sure to fall head over heels for this scrumptious biscuit recipe. And keep your feline infatuated with this catnip cat toy.

3. Schedule a hot date with your cat! Cuddle up together on the couch under a cozy blanket and watch a great movie together. Your cat will be purring in no time.

4. Enjoy a romantic sunset stroll with your canine companion. A walk is a healthy way to bond with your dog, and it’s a heart-healthy activity for you too! If you are both physically able, spend some quality time together and take a walk.

Don’t have a special companion to spend the holiday with? Find your Valentine at SICSA during our “Be Mine” adoption promotion! February 9-15, cat adoptions are just $14. Visit our website to view adoptable pets, or call us at 937-294-6505. We’ll help you find your perfect match.
