Happy Tails: Zelda’s Year-Long Journey

In February of 2019, Zelda came to SICSA from another shelter. After nearly a year of being overlooked by numerous potential adopters, Zelda made the move with us from our Kettering location to Washington Township. Just over a week shy of her one year anniversary of coming to SICSA, Zelda finally found her match.

Monica Guzman found Zelda at SICSA’s new home, and knew she had to take her on a slumber party. After a few days together, both Monica and Zelda could tell they were a perfect match! After making the adoption official, Zelda settled into her new life. Now renamed Edna, Monica gave us an update on her new fur baby’s life in her furever home.

“Edna is doing great!” Monica wrote in an email, “She loves to be pet, rub up against your legs, and sleep at the foot of the bed.” Edna even has a new younger sibling! Shortly after adopting Edna, Monica added a kitten to their family. Though she says Edna was slow to warm at first, she and the kitten are getting along wonderfully now! “…they’re best friends. They play all the time and I’ve even caught them napping together.” Monica said about the pair.

We are always thrilled to hear Happy Tails, especially those from our long term residents like Zelda/Edna! Could your Happy Tail be next? Stop by SICSA and meet the newest member of your family today!
