What we are doing

Forty-three years ago, SICSA was created as an alternative to the traditional animal welfare systems available. The only “no kill” facility of its kind for more than three decades, SICSA has led the community in redefining animal shelter, adoption, and humane education.

Due to dramatic growth, and after 3 years of strategic planning and a community wide feasibility study, SICSA launched a Capital Campaign and buillt a new facility at 8172 Washington Church Road in Washington Township. The new 25,680 square foot facility allows for better services for the animals, volunteers, supporters and the lovers of animals. It will enable us to continue to provide innovative, animal and community-centered programming.

SICSA continues to transform the face of animal adoption and wellness in the Miami Valley.

“I was pretty impressed when I brought my love bug home and he already knew ‘go in your crate’ and ‘stay,’ ‘sit,’ and ‘come’... I am so thankful for all the work (the) SICSA Pet Adoption Center does with the pets while they have them.”
