What we are doing

Forty-three years ago, SICSA was created as an alternative to the traditional animal welfare systems available. The only “no kill” facility of its kind for more than three decades, SICSA has led the community in redefining animal shelter, adoption, and humane education.

Due to dramatic growth, and after 3 years of strategic planning and a community wide feasibility study, SICSA has launched our Capital Campaign to build a new facility. This facility will transform the face of animal adoption and wellness in the Miami Valley. The single greatest barrier to SICSA’s core areas of service has been our current facility. As a former strip mall, it simply wasn’t built to meet the current animal welfare needs of our community.
